JACK P. CALARESO President, Anna Maria College AICUM Executive Committee Member
Jack P. Calareso, Ph.D., became the 10th president of Anna Maria College on July 1, 2007. He previously served as president of Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, OH, and of Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, IO.
A Boston native, Calareso spent many years in K-12 education before accepting a faculty position as associate professor of educational Administration at the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY, in 1989. In 1996, he accepted the position of vice president for academic affairs at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA. At both St. Rose and Merrimack, he was instrumental in the development of new academic programs,increases in enrollment and the initiation of community partnerships. Calareso is a frequent speaker at international, national, regional and local conferences, workshops and symposia on topics related to leadership, higher education, strategic planning, ethics, civic engagement, theology and social issues. He is the author of numerous articles and books. His byline has appeared frequently on the editorial pages of numerous newspapers. He earned his undergraduate degree at Boston College, his master’s at St. Bernard’s School of Theology in Rochester, NY and his doctorate at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WS.
